Canyon Media Art Conservation Center

Canyon Media Art Conservation Center

The Canyon Media Art Conservation Center (CMACC) is a nonprofit conservation lab dedicated to sustaining media art in all its forms: video, film, sound, software, kinetic, light, and more. We provide hands-on treatment, research, and technical support, partnering with artists, collectors, and institutions to ensure complex artworks endure over time.

An initiative of Canyon, CMACC is embedded in an active exhibition environment, connecting conservation practice directly to how media art is actually produced, shown, and maintained. Alongside our dedicated conservation lab, Canyon’s 18,000 square feet of cutting-edge gallery space serves as our working laboratory, ensuring that no matter the scale, our work is grounded in the realities of showing, seeing and hearing fully installed work. While rooted at Canyon, CMACC exists to support the broader field; working with artists, collectors, and institutions wherever the work lives.
